I bought her "Advance Knitting" online e-book on-line and did not receive anything for my money. I tried to contact her and the company and the emails were bounced back and the phone number was disconnected. Buyer beware. A lady stopped and inquired if I was knitting a sock. She went on to explain that she had always wanted to try (to knit socks) but was to scared to try. So we talked a little about knitting, and how she should try, when it came up that that sock was for my six year old.</div><div align="left">She was shocked! She asked if I was <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">really</span> going to let my daughter wear them, that I should put them up because I had knit them, that she (my daughter) would wear them out. I just laughed and said I would be very happy if she did wear them out because that would mean that she loved them very much!</div><div align="left">The picture above is of my three daughters: Jessica (17), Victoria (13) and Savanna (6). All of them very <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">beautiful</span>! The one thing my hubby and I do well is make <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">gorgeous</span> girls!</div><div align="left">I'm almost done with the second sock of Savanna's. Yesterday I chose to work in the garden instead of knitting. It was hard, not to knit, but I had some new plants that I had to get into the ground before they died. Unfortuly plants die if you don't plant them, unlike yarn that will keep forever if taken care of properly.</div><div align="left">I have gotten better at taking care of a garden as the years have past. My biggest fault in gardening is theme. Me, I just plant whatever I find that I like. I do plant mostly periennals because you get more bang for you buck. I have a good neighbor and friend that has a beatiful garden. It's planted with the height, color and how large the plant is going to be in the garden. Me, I just buy it, find a spot in the garden and plant it. </div><div align="left">Although I have learned some things about gardening.</div><div align="left">1) Watering is really important to keeping the plants alive. And unlike children who will at least cry when they are hungry, plants just wilt and die.</div><div align="left">2) Clay soil is not kind to vegtable plants. Best to bring in some good soil otherwise they will most likely die.</div><div align="left">3) Plants like to be fed more then once a year.</div><div align="left">4) Dead heading is a good thing</div><div align="left">5) Daisy's will take over your garden so be careful when planting them.</div><div align="left">6) Always tell your husband exactly where you planted the bulbs (better if you put soemthing around the area to help remind him) before he mows them over thinking they are weeds in the spring time.</div>Sandrahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11978184716175026586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1174062597629464713.post-24923333579534542642008-06-23T15:09:00.000-07:002008-06-23T15:36:27.100-07:00First Blog<div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhijwfitO1_Jc44DF90zHBjNw51AGXkTl1ytBa5lC-NRjoMpScVM50NPspcsdxSAdPvGSCRc8rWq6ysD0IeCAyawkajYCW56neSX7AnjCgVJSqEMDqvDpbDvvqqr1LcsLktJP-KXkO8Sls/s1600-h/1st+socks.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215206895016228354" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhijwfitO1_Jc44DF90zHBjNw51AGXkTl1ytBa5lC-NRjoMpScVM50NPspcsdxSAdPvGSCRc8rWq6ysD0IeCAyawkajYCW56neSX7AnjCgVJSqEMDqvDpbDvvqqr1LcsLktJP-KXkO8Sls/s320/1st+socks.jpg" border="0" /></a>A picture of my first pair of socks. I knit them at the same time on size 3 circluar needles.<br /><br /><div></div><div>I love to knit. When ever I have free time I will work on a project. Most of the time I only have one on my needles at a time. Right now I'm knitting socks for my 6 year old daughter. I wish I could say that it was easy to learn this skill but it was not easy. I started my first sock in the fall of 2006. I kept getting it wrong and kept having to frog the sock and start over. In 2007, I joined the Rockin' Sock Club <a href="http://www.bluemoonfiberarts.com/newmoon/">http://www.bluemoonfiberarts.com/newmoon/</a>. I never made a sock from the yarn or patterns that I received. It was not until the end of May 2008 that I finally got a completed sock off my needles! And it was a simple sock that I made (see picture above). I do plan to get started on a pair of socks from the Rockin' Sock Club. As soon as I get up the nerve!</div><div></div><br /><div>What I decided to do at the beginning of 2007 was to knit something that would help me improve my knitting so I could actually knit a sock, so I knit over 30 different dish cloth patterns. I'd go to Micheal's, buy a dish cloth pattern book and knit every pattern in the book. I have to say that my knitting has improved at least 50%. Now I have completed two shawls, numerous scarf's, one purse, one and half pairs of socks (working on the mate to the second pair now), and two sets of wool clogs among other things.</div></div><div> </div><div>I have other fiber interests as well. I also spin my own wool although I have rarely used any of it in knitting. I plan on spinning more often so that I can make something special. I just have not decided what it will be yet.<br /><div></div><div></div></div></div>Sandrahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11978184716175026586noreply@blogger.com0
